2/4/2022 I contacted the Newton FD first to see if they had been dispatched the 25, 26, or 27th of January to Love's and they had not--no calls received. I called the facility and talked with Sean Peterson, the manager. He spoke to me with the manager present that was on duty the evening of the 26th. It was confirmed that there was a diesel spill at dispenser 19 around 5 pm when a customer wasn't watching during fueling. They estimated 25-30 gallons was released and contained to the concrete. Absorbent pads were used to clean up the spilled fuel. The pads were bagged for disposal. No hazardous condition identified. We talked about operator certification and spill reporting requirements and I told the manager I would follow up with an email. JANET GASTINEAU
