6/8/2023 Initially recommended that the call contact the county to have their water tested. Caller noted the county tested the water yesterday but was concerned that if they were being impacted by the power plant they shouldn't be required to pay for additional samples. They noted the they've used their well since the 70's and had filters installed for a number of years. We discussed what manganese can look like. They noted they have not had an issue with manganese in the past. They don't remember ever seeing the amount of black material on the bottom of the filters that they've seen in recent weeks. Further noted they had Culligan come back out and replace the filter due to the amount of material they observed. We discussed that they should verify with Culligan that the filter size had not changed. In addition a sudden change in manganese could be tied to a geological occurrence or casing issue. They noted the black material doesn't appear as bad on the recently replace filter but it still present. They are concerned that neighbors without filters may have a change and not be aware. I asked that they contact me upon receipt of results and we could discuss further. They noted they would do so if they still had concerns. AMBER SAUSER
