4/6/2018 Brandon and I visited about improvements to the SCADA system to ensure compliance with self-monitoring data retrieval for a five year period. Other highlights of the visit: 1. Preparing to replace carbon in all filters. The air scouring is not distributing evenly in the older half so they are also going to replace the rest of the filter media and inspect the underdrain. Brandon was provided with the summary of the AWWA standard for disinfecting the filters after the replacement. Calgon is providing carbon and all filters will have carbon replaced. 2. The CCR with the PN for the two March TTV was published and distributed and the distribution certification was submitted to the IDNR. 3. Jetco did some reprogramming so the CFE data is recorded every four hours and the maximum automatically dumped into the MOR. CFE data is recorded every four hours whether water is being distributed to the public or not; in other words, whether the HSPs are operational or not. The turbidimeter calibration protocol will have to be replaced and Brandon was advised to submit it. 4. Board meeting tonight to discuss full replacement of all turbidimeters and the addition of one on each clearwell and a benchtop unit. The laser meters will be used to replace the 1720D units. Replacing clear well and HSPs will also be discussed. 5. They are still dealing with two lawsuits associated with the new reservoir but are otherwise much closer to securing all the property needed. 6. The ferric mixer that was out of service for so long was installed new. 7. Water Supply considering switching from gas chlorine to sodium hypochlorite but Brandon has questions about how the chlorine dioxide is made. 8. Central EST will be painted this year and will need to be fully shrouded because of lead paint. I encouraged him to work with adjacent property owners in advance so they are prepared for paint chips and dust, etc. JANET GASTINEAU
