3/29/2018 David called to report they had a small fire at the landfill early this morning. He explained staff found something had caused a small fire to start on the Phase 1 cell they were working at. Staff was able to extinguish the fire and were continuing to dig out the area and cover with dirt to prevent additional flare-up. The fire dept responded but did not need end up needing to use anything to put out the fire as it was already contained. They planned to monitor the area during the day and move active work to Phase 2 area for the time being. I asked he keep us informed if more fire develops. DANIEL WATTERSON
