9/5/2017 Spoke with Eric Cherko. At Ryan's suggestion, Sapp Brothers purchased a larger chemical hose for the feed pump. The system is now sending approximately 3 parts of total chlorine into the system, but still is unable to maintain a 1.5 total throughout the system. It was reported that recent results were approximately 0.8. According to Eric, the larger hose was just installed this weekend. Therefore, it was recommended that the system flush the mains to see if they can get and maintain at least 1.5 throughout. If this doesn't work, Mr. Cherko was advised that a construction permit will likely be needed for a larger chemical feed pump as the current pump and hose size are both maxed out. It was discussed that it may take several months for the ammonia oxidizing bacteria to redevelop within the filter media. It was discussed that the system must maintain at least 1.5 total chlorine until such time that the bacteria reestablish themselves and the system can again reach breakpoint chlorination. Eric indicated that he would provide us with an update later this week. KEITH WILKEN
