7/31/2017 Derek Rothe: I appreciate your working with James last Friday on manure stockpile issue. I looked over the area when we placed the stockpile. I didn't see anything but the weeds were 4 feet tall. We moved the stockpile to the top of the hill by a terrace. There are no tile intakes. Dan Olson: That sounds good. The person that called did not want to file a complaint as long as the pile was moved. She just wanted to know what the required separation distance was. Derek Rothe: Another client (Jim L. Halbur Sec 18 - #59478) has a 2000 head hog site. He wants to drop to 1000 head and drop his MMP. Dan Olson: The MMP requirements are based on the capacity of the site, not its current population. If there multiple barns, he could mothball a barn or barns. Derek Rothe: He also has the manure from his open cattle feedlot on the same plan. Dan Olson: We would ask for that if he applies the cattle manure to the same fields where the manure from the facility with the MMP is applied. DAN OLSON
