12/1/2016 From: Gastineau, Janet [DNR] Sent: Thursday, December 01, 2016 1:51 PM To: 'osceolawater2' Subject: RE: FW: question: Innovative Coatings & Materials As I look at the website (http://i-c-m.co/), I can’t find anything that really sells this as a replacement for any of the algaecides you’re using. You don’t have problems with nitrate or ammonia, so I’m not sure what good these bacteria would do West Lake. Maybe they should be working with the wastewater staff!? This is the website that discusses the general permit http://www.iowadnr.gov/Environmental-Protection/Water-Quality/NPDES-Wastewater-Permitting/NPDES-General-Permits/GP7-Pesticides that I mentioned. There are names of two individuals within the water supply engineering section—Skip and Michael—that can answer some questions. If this was to be some type of permanent treatment, I’m imagine it would need a construction permit, in which case either Skip or Michael could also answer questions or the section supervisor is Mark Moeller at (515) 725-0275. I hope it goes well tonight. JANET GASTINEAU
