10/5/2009	On October 5, 2009 I called Paul Groenenbaum to see how he was progressing on his P-Index manure management plan (MMP). Paul had sent in an annual update for his P-Index MMP which was due 8/1/09. I called him on July 31, 2009 to inform him that he needed to turn in an original P-Index MMP. I spoke to both Paul and his son Alan at that time. When I spoke to him on October 5, 2009 he said he would have his son Alan call me because Alan was handling the matter. Paul called me back about 30 minutes later and told me Alan had not been working on it and that he (Paul) would take care of it. We discussed soil sampling. He said the Coop would be doing the sampling but they were waiting to get the crop out of the field. I recommended to Paul that he get some help in preparing the MMP because of the calculations for the Rusle2 and P-Index. I gave him the names and phone numbers of Kapil Arora with ISU Ag Extension and David Halvorsen. I told Paul as soon as he harvested crops off those fields he needed to have the soil sampling done since he was already late with his P-Index MMP. Paul said he would contact Kapil Arora and call me back this week after he had met with Kapil. I also promised to send Paul a MMP form since he did not have access to the internet.	BILL GIBBONS
