8/15/2016	Larson (deputy) called about eight people who entered the ER with chemical exposures. Thomas Craighton, the emergency management coordinator, was helping with decontamination. (641-512-8717) The eight people were sprayed twice by an aerial application airplane while they worked on windmills. Larson said that the chemical was Stratego. Larson did not request any specific action from the DNR. Since the issue did not appear to be a reportable spill, I did not create an HSI record for this incident. I did state that the DNR could provide assistance in determining an acceptable method of disposal for the people's contaminated clothes, if the local staff are not sure how to handle the issue. I also said that I would refer the incident to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship - Pesticide Bureau. I then called Dr. Gretchen Paluch, IDALS, and I informed her of the incident. She agreed to contact Craighton to assist with the incident. She agreed that she or Craighton would call me back if they have concerns that need to be addressed.	SCOTT WILSON
