6/27/2016	Captain Gene Evans, Osage Fire Department, called to report a diesel fuel spill that occurred at 3760 Primrose Ave in Mitchell. The spill occurred when a diesel straight truck struck a farm tractor as the tractor was attempting to make a left turn into the driveway. The fuel cap for the truck tank popped off but the tank did not rupture. Approximately 20-30 gallons of diesel spilled to the roadway. Secondary roads was there applying absorbent to the fuel on the pavement. No tile intakes or water sources were impacted. The firemen will check closer by digging with a shovel to determine if any gravel or soil needs to be excavated but Captain Evans did not feel enough fuel left the pavement to require excavation. There was no spill number issued since this was a minor incident but Captain Evans said he would call if they decided to excavate and requested that a spill number would be issued if they had to excavate. I agreed to do so. He sent pictures (attached) of the scene but never contacted about any excavation.	DAN BRATRUD
