5/13/2016	Ms. Willwerth called with concerns about the fly population in the Vincent area of Wright County. Her family lives and farms one and on half north of Vincent and the flies are just unbearable. Her husband has to wear a net to work in the yard and do chores. Every time the house door opens there is a cloud of flies that enters. She sprays and uses fly strips but neither one keeps up. They feel they will have to temporarily move off the farm until this fly problem is resolved. I told her that we (IDNR) are aware of the situation but there are no rules that regulate flies or odor both of which are considered a nuisance. I told her that I had talked to Sandy McGrath, Wright County Sanitarian, about this and encouraged Sandy to call IDALS and ISU Extension. I told Ms. Willwerth that she might check with Sandy to see if she had come up with any solutions. I also told her that I would talk to other staff and supervisor in FO2 to see if there was any other follow up that this office would or could do.	DAN BRATRUD
