12/24/2015	I visited with Nick Hunt & Dan Weber in the break room at FO4. Due to an excessively wet December, Clan Farms was operating their center pivot on 12/23/15. Weber found ~ 10 ppm ammonia in water in the road ditch. Hunt stopped at FO4 to bring in his operating records. The center pivot was shut off. Hunt stated that they were trying to be proactive by taking advantage of what will likely be the last chance to apply. The basin has enough capacity for the winter but he is concerned about the potential for a wet spring. I explained that the permit allows for a discharge from an overflow from the basin but not necessarily a discharge from the application field while pumping the basin down to provide more capacity.
