10/8/2015 Randy, While these modifications do NOT require a construction permit, they do require an engineer. The modifications need to be explained and drawings submitted showing the proposed modifications. An engineer must sign off on it. The modifications must be in compliance with 567 IAC 65.15(20). Please let me know if you have further questions - otherwise, please submit the required information from your engineer prior to modifications. Thanks, Alison ALISON MANZ
10/8/2015 Alison I have two ideas to help with handling of manure from my slurrystore First option would be to go thru the sidewall sheet and double valve an access point for manure removal Basically it would involve putting an 8 inch stainless valve inside the tank with a control rod going to the top of the tank then a stainless pipe 6 inches long attached to another brass or stainless valve in the sidewall sheet of the tank which could be hooked to an outside pump to help empty the tank more efficiently Second option would be to install a second S tube in the concrete floor similar to the original one installed at time of construction with a stainless floor valve Both of these could be done when we clean out our tanks this fall when we replace our cathodic bars Thanks for your consideration Randy Kohorst 712 790 4444 ALISON MANZ
