I’ve instructed the operators going forward on sample collection day to run benchtop samples on the NFC, ART and MRT. That way we can compare each one of our sites to the results they get at the lab. The office is supposed to notify me as soon as they get the bottles and I will send them in. How close were those? I can look back on the MOR for the SEP result from May 18, 2015. The 0.86 chlorite at the SEP is pretty consistent with the high level usually reported on the MOR, but the three DS samples are usually much lower than these special results from SHL. Again, take the September/3rd quarter samples as soon as you get the bottles so we can have some confirmation. This test was completed using our old chlorite tester. Our old tester wasn’t functionally correctly and we weren’t 100% confident with it, that is why we ordered the new unit. On this same date, we sent in three samples to the lab to compare data. Since this time, lake quality has changed and we have adjusted feed rates from where they were. We sent an operator to Winterset to work with them on training on the new equipment. We are now using the new equipment and are awaiting 3 new bottles to complete our September sampling. We didn’t have other specials and didn’t make any chemical adjustments until the raw water quality changed. I called the lab and they said it shows the bottles have been shipped. Let me know if I need to do anything else. Let me know your thoughts on the following….Did you have other specials that weren’t this high? Did you make an adjustment one way or the other to get these high levels and adjust downward afterward? Are all your bench levels for August good? Any other narrative you can add will be helpful. Take your September samples as soon as you get the bottles for confirmation of these results. Osceola is on reduced monitoring for chlorite. Were they trying to get high numbers? I told him to call the lab to get it straightened out also. He planned to do his quarterly compliance monitoring next month. Does he need to do a confirmation sample for you? I don’t know where the high results were (NFC, ART, etc.). JANET GASTINEAU

With the new equipment and their assistance, I am confident going forward we are on the right track, regarding chlorite testing.
