9/29/2014 I called Rick back and let him know. JANET GASTINEAU
9/29/2014 From: Corrigan, Ted [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2014 9:35 PM To: Gastineau, Janet [DNR] Subject: Re: alleman hydrant painting Janet, We color code our fire hydrants according to the NFPA color code system by painting the bonnet red (less than 500 gpm @ 20 psi); orange (500 - 1000 gpm); or green (greater than 1000 gpm). I would say Rick could feel free to paint the bonnet of this hydrant red assuming that, if it's on a 2-inch main, it will flow less than 500 gpm. Not sure where this hydrant is located. We provide total service in Alleman and would be happy to paint the hydrant if you can tell us where it is. He has a hydrant on a 2” line he’s wondering if it’s OK to paint red or if there is some other scheme he should stick to? He thought there might be something standard, but I told him most systems seem to come up with their own color coding. He doesn’t want to mess anything up for the FD or DMWW, for example. I think he said this particular one has a blue cap. I can pass along any information you have. Thanks. JANET GASTINEAU
