7/1/2014 On 6/27/14 in reference to a series of odor complaints FO6 has received over the years against the landfill, while in the area, i drove down Slothower Road to try to intersect any odor that may be lofting around the area. Although i didn't smell anything abnormal, I did notice (as i have in the past) the lack of lush corn growth on the east side of Slothower Road as i was driving north back out to Melrose Ave. I've been lead to believe that the sewer main that transports leachate from the landfill out to the main on Melrose travels underground right along Slothower Road! I wonder if somehow that's leaking gas out of the ground causing both the odor and the lack of vegetative growth. I've attached a few photos. KURT LEVETZOW
