8/24/2009 Donald Pauken with Muscatine power and water called to request permission to discharge CCR runoff from their control pond as it was getting full. He mentioned they had a similar incident to this last year and he was allowed to discharge the waste. He also mentioned that he was working with Steve Williams in Des Moines to try to get an NPDES permit for the facility after the incident last year but was unable to because the TDS and chloride requirements were not solidified at that time. I told him that I could not authorize him to discharge the waste and that I would check with my supervisor. JON RYK
