4/28/2014	1010 hrs: Keith Benning called and asked what they would need to do to construct a 100-head, dry-bedded cattle building at his son Darin's place in the NE 1/4, SE 1/4, Sect. 14, Osceola Twsp., Franklin County. We discussed the construction requirements. In short, as a dry-bedded SAFO, the project is exempt from construction permit, MMP, concrete standards, drainage tile requirement, and most separation distances. We did discuss the applicable separation distances such as those to water sources and wells. I also utilized the AFO Siting Atlas and verified that the site, as identified by Keith, is not impacted by an alluvial aquifer area, alluvial soils, or karst topography. Additionally, based upon the aerial photography, the site can meet all applicable separation distances. I explained that I saw no reason they could not build such a facility at that location. I did, however, state that Keith should contact the county sanitarian for well permitting and siting if they decide to drill a new well.	TRENT LAMBERT
