3/4/2014	Steve Eastman called on 4MAR14 and stated that he had assembled the project team and they were beginning to mobilize. Mr. Eastmans’s consultant is Terracon out of Cedar Falls, and his remediation contractor is Clean Harbors. Clear Harbors is subcontracting the heavy equipment work to Top Grade out of Farley, IA (because they are 40 hour trained) and they will be using some equipment supplied by Popp Excavating. The insurer has hired Vertex out of Boston as their 3rd party resource. Mr. Eastman asked about asbestos notification and inspection. I indicated that since the building was completely destroyed, they need not submit a the 10 working day demolition notice to DNR. I noted that the building was predominantly metal and advised them to use best work practices to minimize dust, and notify the landfill that the ACM status was unknown if they were to take any material there. I also advised Mr. Eastman to contact the Landfill of North Iowa early on and learn what, if any, special characterization requirements there were.	DAVID MILLER
