2/12/2014 Jon called and we discussed the landfill accepting waste brought to them by J. Petticord cleanup contractor from yesterday's fire in Kalona that occurred at the oil distribution company on the SE side of town. They decided to landfill the limestone as opposed to trying to landfarm it. I was fine with that. Shortly thereafter, i spoke with Nick Wylie from J. Petticord regarding the asbestos component of the cleanup. I told Nick that i'd refer to Tom Weuhr also before answering how to proceed with asbestos rules on finishing the demo of the mostly burned building. I assume it'd be regulated, but not sure if it's capable of safely being tested due to structurally unsound walls. KURT LEVETZOW
