You can submit the application on line. NPDES general permit #2 is the one for storm water discharge associated with construction activities that disturb one or more acres total land. The permit and application are attached. Please let me know if you need anything else. JANET GASTINEAU

Contact Taroon Bidar at (515) 725-0278 or email above to discuss. General Permit #6 would cover the discharge from installation of the new lateral though. From: Rash, Vern [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, February 07, 2014 2:41 PM To: Gastineau, Janet [DNR] Subject: RE: GP #6 for well service Janet, Thank you for the information and the prompt response. We are considering installing an additional lateral from one of our existing radial collector wells at Maffitt Reservoir concurrently with our rehabilitation of that well that we discussed yesterday. In reviewing the information you provided, it appears that General Permit #6 would also cover the installation of the additional lateral. I anticipate the same equipment and discharge pit would be used during the development of the new lateral that would be used in the rehabilitation of the existing laterals. Am I correct is assessing that General Permit # 6 would cover both the rehabilitation of the existing three laterals and installation of one new lateral? I have attached a couple of aerial photographs showing the location of the radial collector well we anticipate we will be working on. Thanks, again. JANET GASTINEAU

A notification of commencement of the work gets sent to our office and we’ll plan a visit to observe and be sure there are no water quality concerns. Do you have a ball park on when this work will likely be done?
