The limit is 1 NTU in the combined filter effluent and they experienced a peak of 1.53 NTU; at no time shall the combined filter effluent turbidity exceed 1 NTU. DMWW contacted the IDNR field office within the required 24 hours and we have consulted with multiple DNR employees regarding the violation and subsequent steps toward public notification. DMWW is currently working on issuing a public notice to inform customers about what happened, what they should do, what turbidity’s health effects are, and what DMWW is doing about the problem. They are required to distribute the public notice via radio, TV, hand or direct delivery. Our communications staff has been informed in the event they receive calls from media sources. No boil advisory is required at this time. We have recommended flushing affected portions of the distribution system and collecting special bacterial samples. JANET GASTINEAU
