10/12/2009 On Monday, October 12, 2009 I called Paul Gronenboom. Paul said he met with Kapil last Tuesday and they were able to write the MMP. Paul said his most recent soil samples were done in December 2005 and they used those for the MMP. I told Paul that was fine and he could collect the samples after harvest this year and update his MMP after the laboratory results came back. Paul said he would take the MMP to the Mahaska County Courthouse and have the County Verification of Receipt signed and then send in the MMP. BILL GIBBONS
10/12/2009 On October 9, 2009 Paul Gronemboom left a phone mail message that he had met with Kapil Arora on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. He said they had done the MMP and that Kapil told him he would not need to take soil samples until later this year or spring 2010. He said he would be sending in the MMP. Paul said to call him back. 10/12/2009 On October 5, 2009 I called Paul Gronenboom. I asked him how he was coming with his P-Index MMP. He told me his son was supposed to be working on the MMP. He wanted to check with his son and call me back. I received a call back from Paul. Paul said his son had run into some difficulties and had not done anything. Paul said he was going to take care of it himself. I gave Paul the name and phone number of Kapil Arora with Iowa State Ag Extension. I told Paul Kapil could help him with his MMP. Paul said he would call Kapil and arrange a meeting and call me back by the end of the week. BILL GIBBONS
7/31/2009 I called Paul Groenenboom (Paul Groenenboom Farm - Facility ID 59025 in Mahaska County) to inform him that he needed to submit a new original P-Index manure management plan (MMP). He sent in his annual update MMP but it was not a new original P-Index MMP. I talked to Paul's son Alan and informed him that the first original P-Index MMP was submitted in 2005 and that a new original P-Index MMP is required every 4 years; the due date is August 1, 2009. Alan said he would tell his father but that they could not obviously meet the August 1 date. I told Alan that I understood, but that he needed to call me back to inform me when the original P-Index MMP would be submitted. BILL GIBBONS
