4/4/2013	Tom Peterson of Mason City called and asked how high were they going to pile the trash at the Landfill of North Iowa. I stated that I couldn't say without consulting the permitted plans, but they were getting close to their permitted elevation, and that then they would cease filling vertically and then start filling toward the south. Mr. Peterson stated that it was an eyesore. We then discussed the need for landfills and I asserted that, while this one was large and readily visible from major roads, it was generally away from the the community and reasonably well managed. Mr. Peterson siad that his main reason for the call was that he had asked around and no one seemed to know how high they were going, and he wanted to be sure the DNR was watching it. I assured him that I visited this facility at least quarterly. Mr. Peterson was satisfied with this response.	DAVID MILLER
