1/14/2013 Brent Johnson of McClure Engineering called me on 14JAN12 regarding the Notice of Enforcement Action for failure to renew the permit for the NCRISWA Landfill. He asked what type of schedule DNR was expecting for completion of the permit renewal application. I advised Mr. Johnson that NCIRSWA should propose the schedule to DNR, but pointed out that the critical path was not DNR’s demands on the overdue permit renewal application, rather it was the fact that they need an approved expansion later this year and DNR was quite concerned that there was insufficient time to renew the permit AND then approve a landfill expansion. Mr. Johnson stated that he would provide a proposed schedule. I advised Mr. Johnson that he should continue to work directly with Mike Smith on the permit renewal and the expansion applications, but he should keep me apprised of the schedule. DAVID MILLER
