We keep them very simple. This one was issued for a system just last week. When you write up your protocol, you will want to include collection of bacterial samples at multiple locations downstream of the break (up and downstream of the break if water flows both directions or not sure which direction). Repeat sample collection 24 hours later at the same locations. After both sets are bacterially safe, you can lift the advisory. I encourage operators to keep extra bacteria bottles around just in case.
