There is no need to send us a copy of the SWPPP, just keep it on site and I will spot check it next time I come out. Regards, David From: Doug Miller [mailto:dmiller@co.kossuth.ia.us] Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2012 3:39 PM To: Miller, David [DNR] Cc: Lyle Karels Subject: Kossuth Waste Management Association David, I have received and reviewed the reports from your recent visit to our Sanitary Landfill location and our Transfer Station Operation. With regard to your report on the Transfer Station and the required actions, all appliances have been stored in an upright position and are now stored in an orderly fashion. We will continue our effort to make sure the storage of the appliances complies. We are updating our Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan. When it is complete, we will forward it to you. With regard to your report on the Sanitary Landfill and the required actions, we will reseed the area as weather allows. Hopefully we will get some moisture that will help things grow. After we reseed we will inform you. If you need any additional information, please contact me. 8/28/2012 Doug Miller, Kossuth County Engineer, called me regarding my transfer station inspection report which required that the SWPPP be updated. I explained that the SWPPP was tailored to the landfill activities, which is now closed, and there was nothing in there regarding the transfer station activities. It also listed people who were long retired, and did not speak to periodic staff education requirements. We discussed what the SWPPP update should include and Mr. Miller stated he would make the changes. DAVID MILLER
