5/25/2012	On Tuesday, 5-15-2012, Hal Morton called from the Des Monies County Landfill to report a fire had occurred last night in the working face area. Discovered about 8:30 last night. Burlington fire dept. responded. Were able to put it out. Was at the working face on the trash they had taken in over the last two days. Applied about 5000 gallons of water and it all soaked in – no runoff. Had to push and move the buried trash around. Affected area is about 20-30’ wide and 120-150’ long. No obvious cause for the fire, except that they had 4 or 5 packer trucks come in close to closing time, which Hal said is unusual.	PAUL BRANDT
