5/18/2012 From: Gastineau, Janet [DNR] Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2012 9:35 AM To: 'OSCEOLAWATER DEPARTMENT' Subject: RE: Lead testing There must be some confusion or miscommunication along the way. Lead and copper are always sampled together and the minimum sampling is every three years as long as you continue to stay below the action levels. Nine year monitoring is usually assigned to radionuclides and regulated inorganic parameters. Your lead and copper is due this year. It states 20 samples every three years. I was visiting with Esther and she thought we didn't have to sample for like 9 years. She told me that the last time we sampled we passed enough samples that we were good 9 years. We haven't had to do any lead testing since I've been in charge so I didn't know. I was just wondering if what Esther remembered was true? JANET GASTINEAU
