4/7/2012 In house bacteria tests were total coliform positive, E. coli negative. The sample was from the lab sink and was collected on 3/15. On 3/5, they did their compliance sample from the same sink and it was clean. They have retested and all are total coliform positive. Discussed any changes to system - had to replace a valve water transmission line and repaired on 2/28 but had discussed procedure with me and followed that and had clean sample following work. They had a main break but were able to isolate and it was on the end of the system. Discussed next steps including sampling at the raw water tap this morning, shock chlorinating the well that is not in service today (they have two wells that rotate), and shock chlorinating the system tonight when the chickens are sleeping. They will use a high dose so it can be in the system a short period of time so they can flush and be ready for use by the chickens tomorrow. They will use the well that has been shocked to flush the system and then shock the other well. They can keep the highly chlorinated water out of any surface water. JULIE SIEVERS
