2/28/2012	After completing a landfill visit on 2/27/12 I contacted landfill manager Bill Sloop on 2/28/12 ~10:35 a.m. to ask a few follow up questions regarding the previous office building/scale house that had been removed from the site. During my landfill visit, Bill informed me that the building was for sale, but no one had purchased it. Upon contacting Bill via phone on 2/28/12, I asked him what was done with the office structure. He informed me that the structure was demolished and some of the building material (the frame, other metal) was salvaged. I asked him if any asbestos inspection was completed or if a demolition notification was submitted to the department. He questioned if that was required, but stated that neither had been completed. I told him that no exemption existed for landfills regarding building demolition and asbestos inspections to my knowledge. I asked if a certified asbestos contractor was on site or if anyone on site was a certified asbestos contractor. Bill said that no one there was a certified asbestos contractor. I told Bill that the asbestos check was required and a demolition notification was required to be submitted as well.
