10/26/2011 Spoke with Chris Irwin today with People Service. The samples from the Truck Stop, and one at the plant were absent for total coliform. They also have a raw water sample that is absent for total coliform. Chlorine residuals within the truck stop are 1.5 mg/L total and 0.48 mg/L total (top floor), and 1.4 mg/L total and 0.31 mg/L free (bottom floor). They will begin making coffee and soda using the drinking water. They are now providing water to the hotel, but only for cleaning purposes. The hotel has been instructed that they cannot drink the water without boiling it first. Signs are posted. When the hotel is ready to reopen, they will collect bacteria samples there. There are approximately 45 rooms in the motel. I instructed Chris to collect 3-4 bacteria samples from the motel. The truck repair shop is also opening. They will collect 1 bacteria sample from it. It consists of only a bathroom. They will collect bacteria samples at each of the facilities as they open. I instructed Chris that additional sampling from the treatment plant and well is not necessary unless other sampling indicates there is a bacteria issue within the system. Chris noted that they now consider the PWS fully activated and will resume all required sampling immediately. He will keep us updated. KEITH WILKEN
