6/9/2009	6/9/09: I had the Boone County Sanitary Landfill manager investigate (Scott Smith 515-433-0591). Specialty Leather Processors’ manager Tom Eddy (515-433-0176) reported that it was determined by the IDNR central office in 1999 that the solid material (from the wastewater pretreatment process) was non-hazardous and could go to the landfill. [This was forwarded to Elizabeth Koesterer at EPA Region 7.]	BILL GROSS
6/5/2009	Gary asked for information about Osh Kosh Tanning in Boone. I told him it was in the Boone wastewater pretreatment program, but the name changed to Boone Tanning. Boone Tanning closed in 2005. I told him the pretreament program now has a company called Specialty Leather Processors at 2135 Industrial Park Road in Boone. I told him they generate a sludge that does to the landfill. I checked the Boone Co. SLF file and did not see an SWA for this facility. I called the landfill and they did not know anything about it though the manage Scott Smith was out. He will call me when he gets back next week.	BILL GROSS
