8/5/2010	8/4/2010 15:38: Bob Tallman called the field office regarding a 20 acre former onion field that he had sold on contract to Sivyer Steel. He mentioned that they are preparing to bring foundry sand to the property and mentioned that they have already excavated an area where they will be dumping the sand. He stated that they said they have a permit for this and wanted to know if we had a copy of the permit and the requirements. I mentioned to him that I could do some checking to see if we had a permit but suggested that he contact who he had spoken to at Sivyer Steel to see if they could supply him with a copy and he mentioned he would do that. He was interested in getting information on guidelines as to how the sand can be filled on the property including how thick of a layer of sand can be filled and how thick the cover layer would have to be. He gave the property address for the filling location as 5757 Valley Drive in Bettendorf (between Highway 67 and Valley Drive). I asked him if he wished to file a complaint and he mentioned that he would hold on filing a complaint until he had more information and that he was primarily interested in the guidelines as to how the sand can be used for fill. When I got off the phone with Mr. Tallman, I checked with Bert Noll (an ES in the solid waste section at FO6). Bert stated he would call back and discuss the issue with Mr. Tallman.	JON RYK
