Anyway, I'm surprised if your lagoons need cleaning out already, but the dredged materials generally are just allowed to dewater and then land applied as beneficial use really. I have never known any system to analyze these sediments. Let me know if you need more information. Sorry for the delay. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: OSCEOLAWATER DEPARTMENT [osceolawater@wildblue.net] Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2010 11:11 AM To: Gastineau, Janet [DNR] Subject: lagoons at water plant Hi Janet, I just returned to the office from talking to our Waste Water Supt. Ron Stark. He thinks that they will be able to help us clean out our lagoons at the water treatment plant. Do you know if there would be any benefit or harm to local farmers by us spreading the sludge. If I'm right the only chemicals in it would be the ferric, polymer and chlorine. Do I have to collect a sample to send off to a lab to have this analyzed? If so, can the waste water department do this. If we allow the waste water to do this it could potentially save the water department a substantial amount of money. JANET GASTINEAU
