9/8/2026 Stephen emailed an update on tox testing: Good Afternoon All: I am following up on our progress toward passing the toxicity test as required by our permit. As stated in the email chain, Jesse Steinbeck with Kurita was onsite on July 10, 2026 to begin the bench top testing to determine the dosing and performance of the Kurifloc 2817 and Kurifloc 466. After performing the benchtop testing, a dosing strategy was determined and Whirlpool treated its first batch. A sample was pulled from this batch and delivered to the State Hygienic Lab in Coralville, IA, for delivery to the testing office in Ankeny. Results were received indicating a fail. In reviewing the process to determine the source of the failure, we found a mathematical error occurred during the dosage calculations for the treatment chemical, resulting in a double dosage of the Kurita chemical. The system was fully dosed at 4.2 gallons instead of the jar-tested max dosage of 2.1 gallons. We have since put controls in place to eliminate this from happening again. We have partnered with the State Hygienic Lab to be scheduled for the next toxicity test on 9/22/26. Once I have these results, I will be back in touch. On a separate note, we have seen a significant reduction (almost 10x) in our metal mg/L, especially zinc, since we started using the Kurifloc chemicals so it appears we are improving our performace in this regard.
