2/19/2026 Brianna to WW Seniors: Erik called to report his DO meter is broken, but did some research and found that his DR900 can do DO readings between 0.3 - 15 mg/L. He can get supplies to do this at a much more cost effective price than buying an entirely new probe. Erik's concern though, is that sometimes the DO goes above 15 mg/L in the summer. He reported that he does not have a range limit maximum in his permit, just reports the DO, and wants to know if putting "greater than 15" when the reading is high is acceptable? I verified in Sapp Bro's permit that it is just a grab sample 1 time per week of final effluent. There is a 1.0 mg/L minimum limit. I also asked Erik to do some research into seeing if there was an EPA approved dilution method with DO that he could multiple and report, but that I was unsure of that at this time with the DR900's. Dan to Brianna: I would think that > 15 mg/l DO would be sufficient to show that they're in compliance with their permit but SHL is responsible for the lab certification program and I would defer to them on questions about lab processes and equipment.
