12/19/2025 Re: Landfill runoff to tabor? Olson, Dan p <dan.olson@dnr.iowa.gov> 12:35?PM to City, Marlon.Mueller@dnr.iowa.gov Wes, A landfill would be a significant industrial contributor, so you would need a DNR approved treatment agreement with the landfill. You can find information about treatment agreements at https://www.iowadnr.gov/environmental-protection/water-quality/wastewater-permitting-npdes/permittee-resources/treatment-agreements. If you have questions about developing and submitting a treatment agreement, please contact Julie Faas at julie.faas@dnr.iowa.gov or 515-805-8083. Tom Foutch is the Wastewater Superintendent for the City of Shenandoah and also the operator by affidavit for the City of Coin. If you have questions about why Coin stopped accepting the leachate, you could contact Tom at 712-246-4117 or you could contact the City of Coin at 712-583-3523. I will attach the sample results they sent me. I wanted to contact both of you to see if this is a good idea. Since I just have simple 3 cell lagoon with no other treatment is this a good idea? I attached a picture of the email they sent me as well and my last final effluent from my last discharge. My lagoons currently work very well and I don't want to mess that up bringing in outside contamination. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. Wes Hill City of Tabor DAN OLSON
