11/25/2025	Alix stated that he will be applying liquid manure from the (current) 750 hd open feedlot next week to ground NE of Clermont near the Turkey River, 20+ miles from the facility. We discussed the Turkey is a HQR and that if he does not incorporate the manure on the same day and if there is not a 50' buffer the separation distance for surface application will be 800'. We reviewed the field and it appears there is a 50' buffer between it and the river except in the SE corner. Alix said he intends to incorporate the manure on the same day but it is supposed to get cold this weekend. We also discussed that is legal for him to apply on snow covered ground but it is discouraged. Finally I sent him a snapshot via text of the fact sheet "Separation Distances for Land Application of Manure."	BRIAN JERGENSON
