8/11/2025 Matt Nieswender called at 10:27 AM to report a small spill of styrene resin that occurred at approximately 5:45 AM this morning. A driver spilled the contents of his hose on the concrete outside of the secondary containment area after filling the resin storage tank. The amount spilled was estimated at 15 gallons, which was contained near the filling location. No stormwater drains or soil was impacted by the spill. The resin is 29% styrene by weight and has the consistency of karo corn syrup. Shovels were used to collect the free product and acetone wipes will be used to remove any residual resin from the concrete. All waste generated from the clean-up is being managed as hazardous waste. The RQ for styrene is 1,000 lbs, which was not triggered in this case. After considering the material, amount, location and clean-up activities, it was determined that a hazardous condition was not caused by this release. SHANE DODGE
