4/3/2024 Received a call from Mike Smith, Solid Waste Des Moines, regarding a complaint he took from a truck driver that stated that he could see uncovered waste (or what he assumed was uncovered waste - it was white and silverish ???) on top of the hill when he went by on Highway 34. I contacted the landfill and they were in the midst of shutting down due to wind. They stated that their wind fences are covered in bags and they are working on getting all waste covered. Mike Smith contacted the truck driver who was still unsure what he saw from the Highway. We will follow up with Loess Hills and document their cleanup in the next few days. WENDY WITTROCK
