2/22/2024 Bill Rowland with the Landfill of North Iowa called to ask if I knew of Chad Roche because he was threatening the landfill with calling the DNR on them. Bill stated that Mr. Roche brought a load of tires to the landfill and when he was advised that he couldn't dump them at the working face because they were not cut to 18" or less, he started to get belligerent. Mr. Roche dumped the tires anyway and tried to drive off. He told the landfill operators that they didn't know what they were talking about and that he was going to call the DNR on them. After his discussion with landfill staff, he also stated where the tires were coming from (rural Worth Co) and the landfill advised that he was out of their planning area and he would need to go to Central Disposal in Lake Mills. Mr. Roche stated he would not be doing that and he would just tell the landfill the next time he came in that the tires were from his cousins house in Hancock County. Bill then asked if he should call the sheriff's department the next time Mr. Roche comes to the landfill because he is sure that he will cause a scene or if he should just call me. I told Bill that if Mr. Roche is being belligerent he should call the sheriff's office first, and then he could call me to give me an update. I explained to Bill that the DNR has legal action against Mr. Roche and that I would add it to his file. I also told Bill that Mr. Roche has been advised to go to Central Disposal several times. Bill then indicated that he would call Mr. Roche and advise him that he is no longer allowed at the Landfill of North Iowa. MADELYNN AUSTIN
