5/17/2023 As per email dated 5/16/2023 - Mr. O'Brien provided the following information. Organizational structure changes and Wastewater grade requirements. With the addition of an “Assistant Manager” position for the coming fiscal year, I will be transitioning away from the Department Manager (directorial) role and taking on a Plant Manager (managerial) role. As we craft the new Department Manager position, we would require a Grade 4 wastewater certification. This will broaden the field of candidates, from which we would seek administrative experience (Engineering, Project Management, Utility Management, Facility Management, etc.). I would retain responsibility as Operator in Charge, and would continue to file Discharge Monitoring Reports. My inclination is that DNR would be supportive of changes that create a stronger utility/operation. WETT – status of toxicity testing of final effluent. Due to a failed test last year, we are required to test quarterly. I believe we missed one of the quarters last year, so we did not have four in a row. My intention is to continue sampling quarterly this calendar year, then, if we continue to pass, revert to annual testing in calendar year 2024. E.coli sampling/analysis – We ended up having 3 samples in a 7 day period, so I’m wondering how to report (perhaps in comments section). We will have at least 6 samples total for month of May (of which 5 will meet the criteria for calculation of the geometric mean). Thank you, Willie MICHELE SMITH
