1/26/2023 Attended wastewater project initiation meeting. Versova/Ovation Farms/Iowa Cage Free will be converting the site to a cage free layer facility. They have already received a construction permit from AFO for the barns. They will also be installing additional 8" sanitary sewer line to serve restrooms at a new packer building, a biosecurity building, and a future sorting/grading building. The breaking plant will remain in operation and there will be no modifications of the existing WWTF except for a relocation of the flow monitoring structure. The flows and loads will remain largely unchanged though they may increase the peak flow loading only. They have some problems with surcharging of the existing line due to timing of cleaning activities in the breaking plant, and this new line should eliminate that issue. Schedule G was requested so they can determine whether or not anti-deg will be required. There was a discussion about separation distances and a possible site survey; however, the barns have already been surveyed and approved through AFO, so there are no wastewater separation distances to verify for the new sewer. They are looking at installation of the new sewer line this spring. The anticipated start date for construction is March, but is weather dependent. SHEILA BLY
