1/11/2023 Received the updated MMP. Offered the following comments: As always, ensure you maintain them on-site. Both MMPs are considered approved and it appears as if the requirements in my letter have been met. A couple of things I noticed:1) The pasture ground is still saying manure will be injected. During the inspection Dennis mentioned that manure is surface applied on the pasture ground. I would discuss and ensure the proper application and rates are accounted for and maintained with the on-site records. 2) There are no soil samples for Kilborn A, B/C, or F so during the 2023 and 2025 crop years, there are not technically 416 acres available like the MMP summary suggests. There are still adequate acres, I just wanted to make sure you know manure can not be applied to these fields until soil samples/RUSLE2/P-Index are completed. 3) Soil samples for Mathews Pasture A, B, and C will be required before Fall 2023 application as they expire August 2023. Please ensure the soil samples and P-Index are on-site for these fields before manure is applied. 4) The fields labeled Home 2, Big Pasture A and B, and Leo Wallace are no longer in the MMP. If manure needs to be added to these fields ensure the on-site MMP is updated and all required information is included before application. 5) And, finally, the P-Index for Home 1 is at 4.83. This means the P application rates can not exceed two times the P removal rate of the crop schedule. I'm just making sure you aware of the high P number. ALISON MANZ
