9/19/2022 9/8/2022 1525: Email assistance to Bob Vermillion, Keaton Walker, and Melissa Woods of Responsible Transportation. I informed them that review of the recent MORs indicated that the total chlorine residuals are not being taken on most days and that the permit requires daily total chlorine readings. I informed them that for each of the days that the system is pumping water there should be both free and total chlorine residual information for both the plant and the distribution system. I mentioned that it looks like the free chlorine residuals are taken on each of those days both at the treatment plant and in the distribution system but the total chlorine residuals appear to be taken only once a week at the plant and in the distribution system. I also noticed that the free chlorine readings are generally higher than the total chlorine readings which should not be the case. Generally the total chlorine residual readings should be higher than the free unless there is slight differences in the samples in the vials. I mentioned that I would be happy to discuss this further with whoever is responsible for doing the chlorine residual readings and completing the MORs to make sure that the residuals are being taken properly and recorded correctly.
