8/11/2022	Variance granted to bury approximately 800 market hogs in field just north of the facility. Written permission was received from landowner and variance was for "not on the premises", over 44 market hogs/acre/year subparagraphs of 567 IAC 100. Written permission and approval attached in FOCD on this date. Mark Kipp indicated that burial will likely begin today.	BRIAN JERGENSON
8/8/2022	Fire due to lightning strike burned the entire barn and killed all the pigs. They think there were only around 800 pigs in the barn. The building is still smoldering and they have been unable to look closely at what's left. We started to talk about disposal options and they are strongly considering grinding and composting onsite. They will be exploring this option and working with FO1 staff on disposal.	BRIAN JERGENSON
