2/1/2022 NCIRSWA Board Member Donna Weiss called about accepting out-of-area waste from the Centrum chicken barns that were blown down in the 15DEC21 derecho. They have been hauling to LNI in Clear Lake, but the solid waste consists of steel buildings and LNI decided to stop taking it because it to too hard on their equipment. Ms. Weiss asked if they could or had to take it. I indicated that they have no obligation to take any waste they don't want (except tires from their own planning area), but they are allowed to take it if the appropriate out-of-area tracking is done.
