12/15/2021 Wilchinski Standpipe External Inbox Casey, Nathan Thu, Nov 11, 8:47 AM to me Janet, Just wanted to let you know that the Wilchinski standpipe passed its two rounds of testing and all our special samples passed as well. We’ll be placing the tank back into service today. Thanks, Nathan JANET GASTINEAU
11/9/2021 Wilshinski standpipe was painted inside and out, followed by disinfection and refilling with system water to the point of overflow. DMWW then lowered the level about a foot through a hydrant and collected a TCR sample accordingly. However, they discovered that there was a check valve that did not get isolated and when the structure was filled so full, it opened to relieve the pressure and the water was released into the distribution system. First report was about 240,000 gallons and later in the conversation, 200,000 gallons was reported. The valve did what it was supposed to, it just didn't get shut to prevent this from happening. They should have results on the first sample within 12 hours. Free chlorine was good 0.67 and 1.01 mg/L. I suggested they take some additional TCR samples in that portion of the DS for further verification. They will be collecting a second sample from the hydrant. Structure is isolated till both TCR results come back safe. JANET GASTINEAU
