6/22/2021 I called Gary on 6-21-21 to discuss a few things, including that an additional legislative inquiry (from a complainant to the legislators) has recently taken place and so we provided an update of where the situation currently stands. I explained that DNR Legal Services Bureau is proceeding with an administrative action due to the leachate in the creek. I also explained to Gary that "all eyes are on July 1", meaning, if the site isn't in compliance with the screening all compost older than 6 months, drains replaced and windrows restarted, that a hold would be placed on the permit ceasing their approval to accept incoming feedstocks. I told Gary I cannot extend that July 1 deadline based on progress they've been making on getting material screened. Gary explained that if we put a hold on their permit, it could make him close the doors to the operation. I explained that DNR isn't interested in closing the business, just sticking to what we've said in the March 8 2021 letter. Gary asked if he could still use the facility as a transfer station, bringing materials in, offloading and reloading into other trucks to haul elsewhere. I told him I didn't think that'd be an option. He said "well, i'll need to think about this and get back to you." KURT LEVETZOW
